Loving our neighbour now seems a very foreign concept indeed. We congregate on Facebook pages more than we gather at funerals, celebrate birthdays together in a single place, or spend actual time with family, or in social gatherings. Social media has transformed the way we minister the gospel. Youtube, the sound cloud, has made it possible for us to propagate the message that was shared on Sunday to the ends of the world. It’s as if the Great Commission of taking the gospel to the ends of the earth was written with the Internet in mind. True, you no longer need a visa or an expensive airline ticket to reach someone in another continent. Facebook has literally connected us with the ends of the earth. We can start a gospel revolution through social media. Let us mobilise each other and arm ourselves with the right hashtags, and make the gospel of Jesus Christ the most trending topic across all social media platforms, but do it by speaking the truth in love, and letting people know that time is short, because Jesus is coming soon.
